Scientific Name: Phoca vitulina
Range: Both North Atlantic and North Pacific Oceans
Habitat: Nearshore coastal waters, bay estuaries, sandy beaches and rocky shores
Diet: Fish, crustaceans, shellfish, octopus and squid
Size: 5-6 ft (1.5-1.8 m)
Fun Fact: Seals' whiskers are very well developed, much like cats. They use them to sense vibrations in the water, which aids them in searching for prey.
