Range: From San Diego, California to Peru
Habitat: Bays and harbors, usually found in eelgrass beds
Diet: Small crabs, shrimp and zooplankton
Size: Up to 12 in (30 cm)
Fun Fact: The females place eggs into the male’s pouch where they are cared for until they hatch.
