Range: Northern California to Baja California
Habitat: Rocky reefs; inter- to subtidal areas
Diet: Small fishes, mollusks and crustaceans
Size: Total length to 3 ft (1 meter)
Fun Fact: Gets its name from the two false, blue eyespots found under their eyes which help to deter predators.
