Scientific Name: Carcharodon carcharias
Range: Circumglobal, mostly temperate waters (especially California, Baja California, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa)
Habitat: Open ocean (adults), coastal waters (juveniles) 
Diet: Young sharks feed on a variety of fishes and mature sharks feed mostly on marine mammals.
Size: Up to 21 ft (6.4 m)
Fun Fact: White sharks spend August through February along the coast and coastal islands with large seal and sea lion populations. From March to July they swim about 1,500 miles off the coast of Baja California into the mid-Pacific Ocean to a location called “The White Shark Cafe” presumably to feed and mate.
