Range: Point Conception, California, to Punta Abreojos, Baja California
Habitat: Sandy beach and open ocean
Diet: Plankton
Size: 5-6 in (12-15 cm)
Fun Fact: Grunion spawn onshore–coming out of the water to lay their eggs in the wet sand! After about 10 days the eggs hatch and the larvae are swept back out to sea with the high tide.
