Western Gull

Scientific Name: Larus occidentalis 
Range: Along the west coast from British Columbia, Canada to Baja California
Habitat: Mostly near the coast, but also common offshore; estuaries, beaches, rocky shore, and urbanized areas.
Diet: Opportunistic feeder, capturing its own prey, scavenging, or stealing; mostly marine invertebrates, such as squid, clams, mussels, or sea urchins, and many fishes.
Size: Approximately 2 ft (61 cm) in length; wingspan 4-4.5 ft (1.2-1.3 m)
Fun Fact: This gull has a yellow bill with a red spot near the tip of it, chicks peck this area to stimulate feeding.
