Scientific Name: Pisaster ochraceus
Range: Alaska to Baja California
Habitat: Rocky shore; mid- to subtidal zones.
Diet: Barnacles, snails, clams, mussels and urchins
Size: 6-14 in (15-36 cm)
Fun Fact: When a sea star loses an arm it can regrow a new one. And in some cases, a whole new sea star can grow from a lost arm!
