During this special evening, you’ll be able to hatch grunion eggs, participate in grunion arts and crafts, watch a classic grunion video, touch tidepool animals and see the many fish and other marine animals in the Aquarium. Join KCRW for a nautical party at Cabrillo Marine Aquarium! Dance to sets from KCRW DJs Anne Litt and Jason Kramer, grab a bite and drink, meander through life-sized inflatable whales, and explore the wonders of the aquarium and our local beaches. There will be a whole lot of love happening on the beach as thousands of silvery grunion fish hurl themselves onto the sand for their strange and fascinating mating ritual. Let’s kick off summer with a party by the beach that you won’t want to miss.
Warm clothing and a flashlight are recommended. April, May and June are closed season, grunion may not be taken.
